Shawdesh Desk: After losing two games in a row, Mushfiqur Rahim-led Khulna Tigers came back to winning-streak beating Rangpur Rangers by 52 runs in the ongoing Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League (BBPL) at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Friday.

Replying to Tigers’ 182 for seven in 20 overs, Rangers were bundled for 130 for nine in 20 overs.

Rangers were led by Australian all-rounder Shane Watson who had his BPL debut with this game. But the all-rounder failed to impress as he scored only five while opening the game for Rangers.
Mohammad Naim (20), Lewis Gregory (34) and Shadman Islam (16) reached double-digit scores but failed to stay longer in the middle.

Shadman Islam bagged four wickets conceding 23 runs in four overs while Tanvir Islam took two wickets conceding 29 in three overs.

Earlier, Rangers won the toss and opted to bowl first. Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mehidy Hasan Miraz opened the innings for Khulna and added 23 runs in 1.4 overs. But in the fifth ball of the second over, Miraz fell for 12 off seven balls with three fours.

In the next ball, Rilee Rossouw went back to the dressing room. Both the wickets were taken by Mustafizur Rahman.

Shamsur Rahman came at number four but managed to score only 13 runs off 12 balls. However, in the fourth wicket stand, Mushfiqur and Najmul added 39 runs.

But the biggest stand of the innings was in the next wicket when Mushfiqur and Najibullah added 82 runs which eventually led them to post a challenging total.
Mushfqiur reached fifty off 41 balls and ended on 59 off 48 balls with four fours and two sixes. It was his third fifty. Najibullah ended on 41 off 26 balls with six fours and one six.

Mustafizur bagged three wickets conceding 28 runs in four overs while Lewis Gregory took two wickets conceding 36 runs.
